Obituary of William T. Bauer
Wyoming – William T. “Bill” Bauer, 36, of Wyoming, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010, in Marshall County.
Bill was born July 11, 1974, in Peoria, the son of Richard W. and Beth Guiliani Bauer. He married Jody Sturm on April 24, 2004, in Wyoming. She survives.
Surviving are his children, Timothy, Joey, and Hillary Kelly of Wyoming; his father, Richard W. “Gomer” Bauer of Bradford; one sister, Anne Ahrens of Toluca; grandparents, Rossi (Pat) Guiliani of Tucson, AZ; father and mother-in-law, Robert “Danny” (Jan) Sturm of Wyoming and Ted (Kathy) Kerrn of Peoria; Also surviving are his aunt & uncle, Jack (Bonnie) Bauer of Buda and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Beth Bauer, grandmother, MaryAnn Bane, and grandparents, Marion and AlmaBauer.
Bill has been the Wyoming police chief for the past seven years and had been the acting chief in Bradford for the past year. Bill was hired as a part-time officer for Wyoming in October 2002. In April of 2003, he was made the full-time police chief. Before that, he had worked in law enforcement part-time since 1997 for the Henry, Sheffield, and Princeton police departments. Bill was recently appointed to a position with Illinois Valley Crime Commission Executive Board. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He was especially fond of fast cars, and a previous job he had as a “Repo Man”.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wyoming where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m Wednesday August 11, 2010. Rev. Ross Wyman and Rev. Joe Ballard will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Wyoming Funeral Home. Burial will be at Wyoming Cemetery.
