Obituary of David L. King
Wyoming—David L. King, 74, of Wyoming, died at 9:36 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
David was born June 28, 1936, in rural Knox County, the son of Victor and Velma Hollis King. He married Donna J. Jacobs on July 2, 1960, in Chicago. She preceded him in death on December 3, 1996, in Wyoming. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Daniel King; one brother, Bert King, one sister, Helen Kretzer; and one infant sister.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin King of Arizona, and Mike (and Linda) King of Wyoming; one daughter, Denise King of Kewanee; two sisters, Juanita Bresson (and Ray) of Ohio, and Patricia (and John) Kitterman of Wyoming; one brother, Bernard (and Shirley) King of Wyoming; and 5 grandchildren, Katrina King, Janette King, Nathan Folger, Tanner King, and Ashley Folger.
David was a machinist at Caterpillar for 31 years, retiring in 1987. He also farmed in Stark County. He was a member of UAW Local 974 and the Stark County Farm Bureau.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Wyoming Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Ballard will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010, at Wyoming Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Wyoming Ambulance Service.
