Obituary of Fred Howard
He was born January 17, 1948, in Peoria, the son of Ned Dallas and Gladys Arlene Krantz Howard, he married Suz Foglesonger on September 27, 1975 at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church. She survives, along with one son, Jason Kenneth and Tina Howard, one daughter, Amy Cotta and Todd Hillan, all of Wyoming; five grandchildren, Clayton Dallas and Rhett Halas Howard, and Payton MacKenzie, Marley Sue , and Ryne Oscar Hillan; and two sisters, Nedra Sands of Scottsdale, AZ, and Jan and Al Buenning of Evergreen, CO. He was preceded in death by both parents and an infant brother. Fred graduated from Wyoming Community High School in 1966 and went on to Wartburg College on a football scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in History and Physical Education. He was President and CEO of Aldrich Company for over 40 years. He was a member of the Wyoming Lions Club, Wyoming Fire Department, Wyoming Chamber of Commerce, Transportation Club of Peoria, Pheasants Forever, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Central Illinois Farm Heritage Tractor Club, Wartburg College Alumni Boosters Club, an associate member of the Wyoming American Legion Post 91, and a Supporter of 4-H and Junior Fair. He was an active member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, serving on Church Council, an Elder, and a member of the Men’s A.M. Bible Study Group. Fred was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, crossword puzzles, collecting antique cars, and spending time with his family and friends. Funeral services for Fred will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 303 N. Galena Ave. Pastors Lane Knouse and Paul Park will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Dominic Hall, 208 S. Galena. Burial will be in St. Dominic’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Wyoming Fire Department, or to the Wy-Hi Community Center. Wyoming Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
