Obituary of Mary Lou Knowles

Wyoming – Mary Lou Knowles, 79, of Toulon, formerly of Wyoming and California, died at 11:48 a.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Toulon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

Mary Lou was born August 2, 1933, in Wyoming, the daughter of Devaime and Wilma Wirth Knowles.

Surviving is a special friend, Wynema Parks of Toulon; three sisters, Vivian (Harold) Bergthold of Downs, Delores (Jose) Coronado and Willadean McGraw both of Aurora; one brother, Charles (Sally) Knowles of Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and one sister, Wanda Knowles preceded her in death.

Mary Lou graduated from John Proctor School of Nursing, Peoria. She moved to California and worked at The Los Angeles Veterans Hospital. Later she worked for the Los Angeles County Health Department where she was involved with the licensing of nursing homes. She loved family, traveling, and life.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Wyoming Funeral Home. Rev. Andy Hopp will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.
