Obituary of Janet M. Maher
Princeville – Janet M. Maher, 78, of rural Princeville, died at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at her residence.
Janet was born November 25, 1934, in Kewanee, the daughter of Ward and Geneva Ham Marshall. She married James E. Maher on September 25, 1955, in Kewanee. He died July 2, 2009, in Peoria.
Surviving are two sons, Pat (Drinda) Maher of Wyoming, IL, and Joe (Gladys) Maher of Ramsey, IL; 8 grandchildren, James Maher, Jenna Maher, Wes (Katie) Maher, Abby (Josh) Piper, Krista Maher, Andrea (Josh) Jahraus, Brianna Maher, and Braden Maher; 2 great-grandsons, James Patrick Piper and Mason James Maher; and one aunt, Lois Castagna of Toulon, IL. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathleen Marie Maher, a son, James Michael “Mike” Maher, a brother, Bill Marshall, and a sister, Marge Tuttle.
Janet was a registered nurse working at St. Francis Hospital, Peoria. She also did home nursing and volunteered with the Spina Bifida Clinic, Peoria. She was a member and past president of the Illinois Angus Association Auxiliary, and a distributor of Shaklee Products for many years. Janet was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Wyoming, and its Altar & Rosary Society.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Wyoming. Father Vien Van Do will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Wyoming Funeral Home, Wyoming, with recitation of Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Dominic’s Cemetery, Wyoming.
